LBC Microscope Slides

Liquid-based-cytology (LBC) is a sample preparation technology that utilizes specialized equipment to enrich cells scattered in the liquid, uniformly disperse the cells onto slides, and finally make a smear ready for sample observation and judgement. Currently, the technology is commonly applied in gynecological cervical cancer screening, can also be used for processing other samples. Compared to the traditional Pap smears, cervical cancer screening smears made by LBC greatly reduce the impact of white blood cells generated by blood, mucus and inflammation on the observation field. This not only significantly improves the detection rate of cancer cells, but also helps to detect some precancerous lesions and microbial infections, such as mold, trichomonas, viruses, chlamydia, etc.

SpinMAT Microscope Slides
    The SpinMAT microscope sides are particularly designed for working with popular automated cytology slide preparation systems of centrifugation mechanism on the market, e.g. the Thermo Shandon® Cytospin® and etc. These slides feature one light-color frosted area for specimen identification & tracking, and wettable wells/chambers of different layout imprintings by an extremely hydrophobic ink. The extremely hydrophobic ink printing enables a controlled distribution of cells in the defined area(s). Black/Blue mask printing on the opposite side is also available for filtering out UV light and ensuring that only specimens in the defined area(s) can be viewed under microscopy. Microscope slides with these filters are also ideal for immunofluorescence tests.

    · Ground edges, 45° corners as standard supply
    · Various other imprinting layouts are available upon request
    · Microscope slides with Black/Blue mask printing on the opposite side are also ideal for immunofluorescence test
    · Highly recommended for use with the HistoTrust SpinMAT cyto consumables
